Case Study: TalentLead x Harmonizer
In many of our projects, we collaborate closely with our partners. While our partners specialize in offering a specific platform or product, we focus entirely on connecting systems. In practice, this leads to smooth and efficient collaborations. This was also the case with childcare organization TintelTuin. We spoke with Marieke Stronks, AFAS Application Manager and CPM at TintelTuin, about her experience with us and the integration project between their ATS and HR system. Our partner in this project was TalentLead, the exclusive provider of the Emply HR platform.

What is TintelTuin?
TintelTuin is a large childcare organization with no fewer than 98 locations. Pedagogical quality is a top priority—and it all starts with having the right people. To ensure a smooth recruitment and selection process, TintelTuin uses the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Emply, provided by our partner TalentLead.
But how do you ensure that hired candidates seamlessly transfer from the ATS into the AFAS HR system? That’s where Harmonizer came in.

The challenge? Automation!
Before connecting Emply and AFAS, the application process was largely manual. Information was exchanged and tracked using emails, Excel sheets, and loose documents. That usually worked out, but manual work always carries a higher risk of errors. It also took up more time—something TintelTuin’s Marieke knew could be improved.
There was also an extra challenge: some applicants had previously worked at TintelTuin. How do you prevent these individuals from being registered again as “new” employees?
The organization decided to invest in an automated solution that would automatically transfer applicant data to their HR system, AFAS, allowing the onboarding process to continue smoothly.
Harmonizer as the bridge between Emply and AFAS
While searching for a fitting integration solution, Harmonizer was recommended by partner TalentLead. Harmonizer was brought in to create a smart connection between Emply and AFAS.
The solution for TintelTuin
Harmonizer developed an automated integration that transfers candidates from Emply to AFAS directly and without errors. The connector automatically checks whether someone is already registered in AFAS and determines the correct route based on that. No duplicate entries, no manual data entry—just a streamlined process that works for TintelTuin.

The results
Ease of use: Ease of use was a major reason for choosing this software. “The user-friendliness and the simple configuration and integration with AFAS were decisive for us,” says Marieke.
Time savings: The time previously spent manually entering data from emails and Excel files has been significantly reduced. By automating this process, TintelTuin can now focus on its core activities.
Fewer errors: Thanks to automated data transfers and built-in duplicate checks, the risk of administrative errors is minimized. This prevents confusion and mistakes that can result from manual handling.

The documentation was extremely thorough, with visual representations of the workflows. Collaboration with Jiri and Edward went smoothly, and the testing phases were completed successfully. There were a few challenges with setting up the rehire workflow in AFAS, but after a few adjustments in AFAS, the integration aligned perfectly!
