About Mackenzie
Mackenzie loves clarity and variety. She starts her ideal workday on location with a coffee round and a clear picture of the plan for the day. After that, she prefers to dive into a task that either suits her well or really challenges her. Especially if it has something to do with UX: that’s what truly excites her.
She’s quite perfectionistic – both a strength and sometimes a pitfall – but that helps her keep sight of the bigger picture. She’s stress-resistant, social, and always thinking about how the product and environment can be smarter, better, or more logical. She doesn’t just want to understand what’s happening, but really grasp on a deep level why it works the way it does. And she wants to be able to make changes to the core of the product – not just the front-end, but also ‘the deep stuff.’
Why does she work at Harmonizer?
“People are relaxed. No rigid rules, no hierarchy. You can just be yourself. You’re allowed to make mistakes, ask for help, and give feedback. That makes the work fun and educational.” In her free time...
… Mackenzie enjoys gaming. But only with friends, because then it’s both fun and social. Besides that, she helps organize online events that raise money for charity – mainly through speedruns: livestreams where people play games as fast as possible and viewers can donate. She supports the technical side of those. Well-known events include Games Done Quick and ESA (European Speedrunner Assembly). The proceeds go to charities like Save the Children, the Swedish Alzheimer’s Foundation, and MIND.
🏝️ If she were ever stranded on a deserted island, she hopes to have a good book, a beach towel, and a nice sweet ice cream with her. Life essentials!
